Eating, Lounging and Losing Teeth

Unlike my other children, Lincoln isn't so big on eating the solids.  Let's just say he loves his momma.  I think he has some texture aversions, he won't do applesauce or cereal.  I gave him a bite of mashed potatoes once, it looked like I was trying to feed him lemons or something.  His face was utter disgust.  But he's does eat some things.  I tried avocados the other day.
He wasn't overly impressed, but I think he got some of them down.  At least he thought they were fun to play with.
And then he does this to signal he's over it and ready for the good stuff.

My girl lounging.
I don't know about you, but that looks super comf-ty (as my kids say).

Mason is officially a big kid now.
First lost tooth!! He did AWESOME and pulled it himself.  The one next to it is loose now.  As he's loosing these I wish Lincoln would start cutting some teeth of his own.

Pinterest...Virtual Pinboard

Are you on Pinterest yet?  If not, you totally should be!!  But I'll warn you, it can kinda be a time waster, but a fun one at that.
So what is it?  It's a virtual pinboard.  It's like bookmarking blog posts, images, recipe, etsy stuff, products you love, etc, etc, etc, but instead of having a bunch of text links that you have to click on, it "pins" a picture for you and the link.
Here are my boards.  I just started last week so I'm still learning and having fun filling them up with ideas and inspiration.  I LOVE this so much more than bookmarking!!!!  Mainly cause of the visual aspect of it.  I can see exactly what it is, I don't have to click on a bookmark for say a ruffle tee tutorial, it has the pic right there for me so I can see which of the five thousand ruffle tee tutorials it is. :)
Similar to facebook or twitter you have "followers."  When you click on the Pinterest logo (top left) you are taken to this screen which shows what the people you follow are pinning.
Clicking on "Everything" will take you to this page where you can search and see what everyone is pinning.  Kinda like a way to see what's trending.
And check out my stuff that made it's way to Pinterest.  I had no idea, till one day I was looking at my stats and saw the traffic source of Pinterest.   My Reese's Lovers Cake is making the rounds :)
Need an invite to Pinterest?  Shoot me an email.
Happy Pinning

Big Bro Appliqued Shirt

For a soon to be Big Bro (No, not my Lincoln)
Confession:  I had to rip off the pocket of this tee.  It's Garanimals from The Mart, and had a pocket on it.  I couldn't figure out how to deal w/ it design wise, so I ripped off the pocket.  Ah!  Pocket-less tee, much easier to work with.
And if anyone would like to fund the purchase of a Silhouette for me so I don't have to hand cut-out letters that'd be great. M' Kay, thanks ;)

Summertime Cake Balls

Our summer usually gets kicked off by going to the annual Memorial Day party at my husband's work.  This year we had just made it home from my sister-in-law's wedding on Sunday, so I needed to make something easy.  I decided to try my hand at cake balls again.  Don't remember if I ever shared my traumatic tale of me trying to make Lego cake pops for Mason's birthday party last year.  Here's a recap: woman 8.75 months prego has emotional break down when cake pops don't turn out.  You don't need to know the gory details, just that it was a major FAIL.  Months later, I was reading on Bakerella and realize I had left out one very important step.  You must put some candy coating on the stick before you insert it into the pop.  If you don't, you might end up crying or cursing under your breath because cake balls will not stay on said stick w/out that "glue".  Don't ask me how I know.
Ok, so I was brave enough to give these another go.  And it worked.....for the one I did.  Then I realized that was just going to be more work and we were in a hurry so I just made them cake balls.  But I have mastered the cake pops and will be doing them again.  Sometime soon.
Here are my festive red, white and blue cake balls.  They turned out so yummy!  But beware, if you don't like sweet, you might steer clear of a cake ball, they are super rich!!  And here's a little secret, I used Almond Bark for the coating, cheaper I think than candy melts and easier to get my hands on.

A Whole Girly Gift Set

This set has been done awhile, but I'm just now getting pics edited and posted to show.  Life has been a little chaotic lately, but now that it's summer hopefully things will slow down a bit.  YEAH RIGHT!!
My SIL had me do a whole girly gift set for a friend that just gave birth.  I love this fabric!!  I don't love that Hobby Lobby doesn't have their prints named.  What do I call this??  Since the little girl's name is Lillian, these prints will be named after her.
On with the show.
Lillian diaper case
Lillian bib
Lillian burp cloth set
Burp cloth detail
Lillian pacifier clip
And last but not least, a receiving blanket.

Batman Tie for My Graduate

First off a few pics of Mason at his preschool graduation.  The idea of preschool graduation is kinda ridiculous in my mind, but none the less, we went and clapped for Mason as he walked the stage and I took lots of pictures.  I'm only sharing two cause the first one depicts the attitude he had the entire ceremony, the second one shows the instant change once he took off the cap and gown.
Started out like this.
Ended up like this.  He's so ornery!
Now on to the real show, his Batman tie.
Spear-yielding Super Grad.  Boys....need I say more.  I made this out of fabric I got at Mary Jo's while on a trip to North Carolina w/ my momma in April.  Wish I would have got more of it, but I think I'll still be able to make a bag for him out of the rest.
There's my handsome boy!! Hard to believe he's gonna be six in September, time goes by WAY too quick.

My good friend Jen is doing another Adoption Auction to raise funds so they can bring home their child(ren) from Ethiopia.  Last time around I donated a camera strap cover, this time its a patriotic tie for your little man.  Go and bless them by bidding high for this or any of the other 100 items she's got.  She has a note that the fabric may be different, this is because we lost our Joann's to the EF5 tornado that ripped through town on May 22.  Pray for Joplin, devastation is far-reaching and really even more jaw dropping in person.
